for un-housed and at-risk Angelenos
Seven 300 SF studios for un-housed Angelenos create a simple yet dynamic design that focuses on fostering community and healthy living. The first of the Genesis LA and Restore Neighborhood LA RE:THINK Housing initiative to be completed, the project maximizes the use of a small lot in a residential neighborhood in South Los Angeles.
A small Office and Community Room allow for on-site wrap-around support services. The Community Room will be shared with and managed by the neighboring Baptist Church and will be open to other social and support groups from the community.
Ample landscaped open space is strategically planted with shade trees and drought-tolerant native planting. The outdoor space is outfitted with site-specific furniture designed and manufactured by the Artisans of the social enterprise Would Works as part of its Community Builders Program.
